The Wildcats traveled to Milton Union High School on Saturday for the Bob Schul Invitational. This is always a great meet and this year was no exception. Bob Schul was honored at the meet after his passing earlier this year, and is still the only American to ever win gold in the 5,000 meters at the Olympics.

The day started off cool with a great DI/II boys race. Connor Green was looking to make a statement and did just that. He got a great start off the line and kept the pressure on the leaders, finishing 4th overall out of 322 runners with a time of 16:27. Oliver Crosthwiate was our second finisher again this week with another new PR of 18:05. He was followed by James Huff (19:08), Daniel Osborne (20:06), Connor Cole (21:35), Donaven Butler (22:42, another huge PR), and Caleb Osborne (23:15). Titus Routson ran for the first time this week to start his high school racing career and posted a respectable time of 31:28 after only a couple weeks of training.

The girls ran another great race. Laila Black, sophomore, was the first Lady Wildcat to cross the line in the Division DI/II race with a huge personal best of 23:36. Coming in 2nd for the Lady Wildcats Bryley Wulff, sophomore, had a great bounce back race with a time of 24:49. On her heels was Sarah Wallace, junior, with a time of 25:05 and Kydee Shults, sophomore, with a 4 second personal best. “It was great to watch the ladies race well knowing they had much cooler conditions than last week,” Coach Hill states.

This week the team will be traveling to Lebanon High School for the Running Warrior Invitational. Everyone will be looking to overcome the heat this week and continue to improve their times. Come out and cheer your Wildcats on. The boys will be racing at 8:00 am followed by the girls at 8:35 am.
