Franklin High School’s own Liam Acevedo has qualified to attend the New Balance Nationals indoor track and field championships in Boston Massachusetts on Saturday and Sunday March 9th and 10th. Liam is a highly accomplished athlete for FHS accumulating multiple titles and accolades over the course of his career. Liam is a 5-time OHSAA Division 1 state qualifier. In order to gain entry to nationals Liam had to meet qualifying marks in each of the events and be accepted into the field for the competition. Liam will travel to Boston to the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center on the campus of Roxbury Community College where he will be competing on Saturday in prelims with the best track athletes in the nation, and potentially some future college competition as Liam will be attending Harvard in the fall. The finals will be held on Sunday at The Track at New Balance which has a 200m hydraulically banked track surface.
The entire competition will be live streamed and can be found by visiting NBNationals.com. For those that are interested in following Liam at the competition the prelims for the 60m will take place at 10:50 am, prelims for the 400 will take place at 1:05pm and the 200m prelims will begin at 5pm.
