The Wildcats head into the New Year with a 5-4 record overall, currently sitting at the top of the SWBL Southwestern Division with a 3-0 league record. The Cats have been led in scoring by Jr. Kai Cook (19.1 ppg), who was recently named Gameday Grille & Patio SWBL Athlete of the Week.
The following was written about Kai on the SWBL Website:
"Kai Cook
Junior scored 30-plus points for the third time this season when he dropped 31 in a 61-51 win over Clinton-Massie. Also had 32 points in a 64-59 win over Waynesville and 32 points in a 59-44 loss to Madison. Averaging 19.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals. Led the SWBL in scoring last year (21.9 ppg) en route to being named first team all-league."
Along with Cook's scoring, the Wildcats have seen great leadership and contribution from Senior's, Carter Black and Jace Murphy, and Freshman Tito Harrison has emerged as a top defender for the program.
The Wildcats return to action this Friday, January 5th, at Home in a big league game vs Edgewood. Freshman tip at 4:30, JV at 6:00, Varsity at 7:15 PM.
