On Saturday the cross country team travelled to Lebanon for the Running Warrior Invitational. It was a fantastic morning and our runners turned in some great performances. In the girls race Kensi Black led the way with a 7th place finish out of 216 runners from 25 teams in the varsity race with a time of 19 minutes and 25 seconds. She was followed by Brylee Wulff with a new PR of 23:58. Sarah Wallace (25:04), Kydee Shults (27:29) and Laila Black (27:51) rounded out the scoring for our team and bringing home a 19th place finish out of 25 teams.

In the boys Varsity race our team pulled out an impressive overall finish of 7th place out of 30 teams. While in the Open race our boys came away with a 9th place finish out of 18 teams. The varsity team competed against 242 runners and consisted of Chris Bond (16:25) in 7th, Connor Green with a new PR of 17:08 in 19th, Carter Black 33rd (17:36), Austin Hitte in 47th (18:00), James Huff in 67th (18:21), Oliver Crosthwaite with a new PR of 20:04 and Liam Acevedo (22:47). In the Open race the team was led by Zach Hamilton finishing in 68th out of 323 runners, with a time of 20:28. He was followed by Bryson Hall (21:07), Daniel Osborne (21:38), Caleb Osborne (22:28), Isaac Shults (25:07), and Donaven Butler with a new personal best time of 27:59, cutting nearly 2 minutes off of his previous best.

The teams next meet will be the Friendship Invitational at Cedarville on Saturday September 16th. This is always an exciting competition that takes place on the District Championship course, which is one of the nicest courses in all Ohio.
