Hurricane Helene tried her best to slow down Wildcat Athletics last week but we found a way to get all scheduled games in. Our cross Country team challenged themselves on Saturday night at Centerville for a night race and ran well especially with the muddy conditions. Volleyball went 1-2 on the week, picking up a straight set win over National Trail on Saturday. Girls Golf saw their season come to an end at sectionals and the girls showed great growth this season. Girls Soccer went 1-0-1 on the week, dropping a match to Bellbrook and ending even against Fairborn. Boys soccer dropped two competitive road games to both Fairborn and Eaton by identical scores of 2-1. Tennis played great at the SWBL tournament finishing in 3rd place as a team. Deila Nau was our high finisher with a 2nd place finish in 2nd singles. Varsity Football opened up SWBL play with a convincing 34-0 win over Monroe. Braydon Issacs and Tucker Campbell both scored for the Cats and the Offensive line opened up holes for almost 300 yards rushing. Defensively the Cats forced several turnovers including a highlight reel interception by Dawson Fitzpatrick.
