Today at the girls division two track meet at Trotwood Madison history was made by your Franklin Wildcats. The girls 4x100 meter relay team (pictured) of Brooklyn Steiner, Lily cook, Sienna Finton and Jayla Wilbourn finished fourth qualifying them to advance to next weeks regional meet on Thursday at Piqua. In the process they also smashed the school record, which they set just last week at the SWBL championship by running a time of 51.83. In addition Brooklyn Steiner also qualified for the regional championships in long jump and the 100 meter dash. She placed third in long jump with a distance of 15 feet 10.5 inches a new personal best for her. In the 100 meter final she came in fourth posting a time of 12.93 seconds, just shy of her best time ever and close to the school record. Come out to Piqua next Thursday night and cheer these ladies on as they look to keep improving and advancing. Congratulations also go out to Laila Black and Bryley Wulff who both ran new personal bests in the 1600 and Laila topped it off with a new PR in the 800 as well. It’s a great day to be a Wildcat!!
